Blender Donut
(Blender, Jan 23rd 2023)
The Blender Donut is a tutorial Series by Blender Guru on YouTube. In this tutorial he guilds us through the basics of blender as well as diving into some aspects of Compositing, Materials and Geometry Nodes such as what you see above.
Blender Donut: Sprinkles
How I achieved the Sprinkles was through the use of Geometry nodes. The nodes take the collection of meshes called "Sprinkles" "randomly" distributing and coloring the sprinkles. (shown below)
While there are some random elements to sprinkles distribution and color. There is a way to control both of these elements. Sprinkle Distribution is controlled through weight painting (shown right).
The color is controlled on the material through a Object Info node with a ColorRamp set to constant. The sphere sprinkles are manually placed on the donut. |

Marble
(Unreal, Feb 2, 2023)
Using knowledge from the Blender Donut Project, I went on to learn more about VFX and Node based programming via the Unreal Engine. Using UE5 I was able to create a glowing marble which utilizes Textures, Materials, and Niagara to full create its effect.
